Therapy for every season of life
About me
Hi, I’m Dominique, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by years of work in health promotion, health coaching, and addictions counselling, as well as by my own experiences with cancer and reproductive challenges.
Those experiences deepened my interest in how people adapt when life does not go as planned, how we make sense of difficult seasons, and what helps us stay connected to ourselves and to what matters most.
My approach is grounded primarily in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and is also relational, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should feel both meaningful and human — a place where you can feel understood, explore honestly, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop greater flexibility in how you respond to life.
Outside of therapy, I am happiest when life is a little slower — spending time outdoors, gardening, moving my body, creating things, being around animals, and noticing the changing seasons. Those rhythms are a reminder that growth is not always linear, and that resilience often means learning to adapt while continuing to move toward what matters.
If you are thoughtful, curious about yourself, and ready to do some meaningful work, let’s connect.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is an evidence-based, action-oriented approach to psychotherapy that helps you learn to drop the struggle with difficult emotions, clarify what is most important to you, and take steps towards what matters.
ACT can help you develop psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, make room for difficult thoughts and emotions, and choose how you want to respond based on your core values rather than reacting out of fear or habit.
Rather than trying to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling, ACT focuses on changing your relationship with those experiences, clarifying your values, and taking meaningful action in that direction.
